Greg VanStrien is in his 27th year of teaching and currently serves as the high school band director at Coopersville Area Public Schools. He leads the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band. Greg is an active member of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association and has served on its State Executive Board for 11 years.

In addition to his work in music education, Greg volunteers on the executive board of the Vytautas Aid Society on the West Side of Grand Rapids, supporting its mission of cultural preservation and community involvement.

Outside of school, he enjoys music composition, technology, and media production. In his free time, you’ll often find him camping, golfing, or biking the trails of West Michigan. Greg is married to his wife, Amanda, and they have two children, James and Alanna.
